When four kids make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, they get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home, meeting unlikely allies and enemies, will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.

Our first introduction to Disney Star Wars’ Skeleton Crew, as far as action figures are concerned, is Jod Na Nawood from The Vintage Collection. A somewhat early release, the figure is based on the character played by uber-popular actor Jude Law. This likable actor will hopefully give Disney Star Wars a solid white male character, which has been absent from the IP for too long now. Maybe Disney Star Wars can begin to grow its alienated audience once again with a character that looks like its most significant number of fans. The last dozen experiments failed miserably, and it’s evident that the doubling down hasn’t paid off, and they might be getting back to basics once again. And hopefully, Disney Star Wars won’t adulterate an otherwise good storyline with identity politics, grooming, or any other creepy current moral and social issues that no one cares about seeing in a Star Wars series.

Some have described Skeleton Crew as a “Goonies in Outer Space” type of series focusing on youngsters rather than adults. Jude Law’s character appears to guide them through the galaxy. While it’s difficult to glean much about the character from the action figure, we’re hopeful this series might have the freshest breath of air compared to anything previously. Still, we’re talking about Disney Star Wars here, so they’ll inevitably cock something up with it. That said, the action figure turned out extraordinarily well. And we say that from the perspective that the action figure doesn’t have a perfect likeness to Jude Law. However, The Vintage Collection line has come so far. With the incorporation of ball-socket hips and premium ball-jointed articulation throughout the figure, Jod Na Nawood moves blissfully thanks to a well-designed approach, and the paint operations, also with enhanced technology, bring everything together beautifully.

We can’t help but notice the cross-pollinated qualities of Jod Na Nawood’s costume. It’s almost as if Zam Wesell blended with DJ from The Last Jedi to produce the unique design of the coat and outfit that makes up the character of Jod Na Nawood. Remarkably, the figure has excellent movement while wearing the coat. But you can remove this shell to give the figure a distinctly different appearance. The figure is wearing its holster in the front, and the included blaster pistol houses itself nicely there. We also get a scarf shaped like a head covering. This accessory interacts wonderfully with the action figure, too. Hasbro designed a nice-looking “Skeleton Crew” logo for the card art. The character photo of Jod Na Nawood is not terrible, and for once, Hasbro centered the character in the limited space to the left of where the action figure is placed.  Jod Na Nawood is a decent action figure. We only hope that the series is well-received to make the tooling of this action figure worth it for Hasbro.
