Thought to be the Chosen One, and possibly conceived by the will of the Force, Anakin Skywalker has left an indelible mark on the history of the galaxy, leading it through periods of lightness and dark.

When it comes to one-sixth scale figures, Medicom Toy knows how to deliver incredibly quality product. Their Anakin Skywalker (Revenge Of The Sith Ver.) figure may be the best likeness of actor Hayden Christensen yet and it goes without saying that some of the most intricate details were considered when developing this piece. Let’s talk about Medicom’s biggest problem and then quickly move along from it. Their price tag is just ridiculous. Anakin Skywalker retails for $179.99. This is hardly justifiable when armored figures were priced at around $149.99 (which is also too expensive). But most Japanese collectibles are expensive and that’s perhaps the reason they are made in such low numbers. Sometimes price needs to be pushed aside though in order to consider what incredible artistic feats have been accomplished. Because passing on this version of Anakin Skywalker is a big mistake if you collect any one-sixth scaled figures. As you know, Medicom Toy is produced in a slightly smaller scale that most other one-sixth manufacturers. So these figures tend to look the best when displayed with each other. But Medicom Toy also tends to produce all of their figures with the same height. So you won’t see much variance between a Clone Trooper Commander, Jango Fett or Anakin Skywalker. We suppose you can consider all of the candidates in the line one-off pieces

We think Medicom’s interpretation of “Sith Apprentice” Anakin Skywalker supersedes Sideshow Collectibles’ take on him. While he looks a little short, (again - because Medicom likes to keep their figures all the same height as much as possible) the soft-goods look so much better. The “leather” tabard hugs his shoulders more closely and the outfit in general has a closer fit. The colors and textures also look to be more in line with what was seen in the film as well. There is certainly a lot more articulation included here and you can position Anakin Skywalker is poses that just can’t be achieved with other one-sixth version available. He comes with interchangeable hands for both arms (some extremely scene specific to shots in Episode III) and he also come with his signature blue lightsaber. The lightsaber hilt detaches from the blade and can be placed on his belt. It looks fantastic of course. The cloak he comes with is sewn in a velvety fabric and has been cut so that it fits him well without looking bulky. There is a wire sewn in at the base of the hood and this allows you to create a formation to cover his head. With a little bit of time and patience, you can create an impressive display of Anakin in his Sith robes. See our photo gallery for examples of this.

We are thoroughly impressed with the head sculpt. Medicom has successfully created an excellent likeness of Anakin Skywalker from the sneering expression in his eyes to the perfect parting of his hair. The scar on the right side of his face has been copied faithfully from the source materials and now you can be reminded of the damage that Asajj Ventress caused this young Jedi Knight long ago. But even his nose, lips and facial structure looks eerily exact to Hayden Christensen. We are thoroughly impressed with the final results, even if this take on Anakin Skywalker comes sans “Sith” eyes. Over, Anakin Skywalker (Revenge Of The Sith Ver.) may just be one of the best one-sixth scaled figures to come from Medicom Toy. Their real Action Heroes body types are so incredibly well made that it makes complete sense why Star Wars characters creating using them look so incredible. And we know how difficult it is to capture human likenesses in toy form. We are confident that Medicom Toy went above and beyond here and we don’t think we could be happier with a better likeness. If you’re looking for the best one-sixth Episode III version of Anakin Skywalker, look no further than this figure. The Real Action Heroes line knows how deliver stunning collectibles.
