A proficient marksman and unarmed combatant, Jango Fett was covered in a sleek armored suit that concealed his scarred visage and strangely tattooed forearms. In combat, Jango used his harnessed jetpack to gain the advantage of speed and height over his enemies. The backpack also carried a nasty surprise – an explosive rocket could be launched from it.

There are many things that are certain in collecting. But one thing you could probably bank on is that if there are various iterations of a popular Star Wars character, you’re going to see them eventually realized as a collectible at some point. The more popular, the more likely of course, but this seems to transcend collectible licenses. High end or low end, these collectibles will keep coming to us. And if that collectible is a hugely popular Mandalorian, all bets are off because that will ensure they are definitely coming. Medicom Toy made a spectacular version of Jango Fett in their hugely popular Real Action Heroes line, but it was based on his early appearances in Episode II, including Coruscant and Kamino. As you know, he donned a slightly different outfit at the Battle of Geonosis, specifically his jetpack, and it only was a matter of time that we saw it made for the Real Action Heroes line. That time is now and the final results are incredible. We think Medicom Toy didn't really enhance the 2007 Jango Fett version in any way, but now we both have both versions of this charcater for the Real Action Heroes line. Jango Fett (Geonosis Ver.) gives us the "more purple" version of the outfit and the Geonosis specific jetpack. We always liked this version of Jango better because it didn't look like a desperate attempt to copy Boba Fett. It doesn't mean it's better though.

As long as we’re collecting, there will be an ongoing disagreement about the true color of Han Solo’s coat when he was on Hoth. (There really shouldn’t be arguments, but there are still those that won’t believe it’s brown.) But there seems to be an even more potent argument about the color of Jango Fett’s jump suit. Many fans and collectors are resistant to accept that Jango Fett’s base outfit is a shade of purple. Only the most stringent eyed collectors seem to have little to no problem admitting that it’s definitely purple. But this really depends upon the lighting of the scene. On rainy Kamino, there is no doubt that Jango's outfit is a deep blue color. But on Geonosis, it's evident that it favort he color purple more. Anyway, Medicom Toy has finally picked up on this and have released an incredible one-sixth scale interpretation of this bounty hunter and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. If you look at Jango Fett on Geonosis, you’ll notice that his helmet remains blue in spite of his purple outfit. This sharp contrast gives Jango Fett his distinguished and unique look. And the new jetpack looks amazing. Interestingly, it isn't removable. This may work out to be a better option for collectors because assembling something this delicate may end up causing breakage. The jetpack also hugs closer to his body because of this method and gives a whole new distinction to this character.

Jango Fett’s armor has been recreated beautifully. It almost has a brushed nickel look to it. Medicom Toy did a fantastic job decorating this figure on so many levels. The armor looks "lived in" and there are many parts of his costume which creates a luxurious multilayered appearance. The portrait is very believable (along with it’s battle scars) and the fine details including the wiring and gauntlet rockets look spectacular. Medicom figures are all made with this high attention to detail, but Jango Fett (Geonosis Ver.) seems to take the cake. We are thoroughly impressed overall. Real Action Heroes are hard to come by for American collectors. Thankfully, Medicom Toy has worked up a distribution deal with Sideshow Collectibles and this has made it easier for Americans to get these wonderfully made 12” figures into their homes. Not that many are available for distribution, but at least the opportunity is there. Medicom Toy’s Real Action Heroes line includes figures that are slightly smaller than Sideshow Collectibles, but many still look great next to them. Jango Fett and Boba Fett are the same proportions as the clones Sideshow Collectibles has made, and they look comparable. (There are size differences, but it’s not too drastic.) Jango Fett (Geonosis Ver.) isn't to be missed if you're a obe-sixth scale connoisseur.
