Princess Leia Organa (As Jabba’s Slave) (Star Wars Animated) - Maquettes

It isn’t too often that you need a Lazy Susan to appreciate every last detail on a Star Wars collectible, but perhaps the Princess Leia Organa (As Jabba’s Slave) animated Maquette is best served on one of them. The Maquette is loaded with detail top to bottom, left to right and front to back. It’s sensory overload in the palm of your hand and it’s absolutely one of Gentle Giant’s finest pieces of work of all time. Sleek, sexy, and maybe even borderline erogenous are words that could explicitly describe this Maquette, but sometimes Star Wars collectibles have that impact. We hope that this doesn’t come across as too perverted. But Princess Leia Organa (As Jabba’s Slave) ever since her first (and only) appearance in Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi has burned her image on the collector psyche in way very few female character have or will.

In a rare move, Gentle Giant Ltd.. gave this Maquette mixed media. Not only is she mostly comprised of high quality polystone, Princess Leia Organa is adorned with a real metal chain and the “gargoyles” along the base have real metal rings. The paint job on this Maquette is exquisite. The heads around the border of the base have a blue wash to recreate the copper quality of them. And the various colors used to recreate and animated version of Princess Leia Organa and her immediate surroundings is nothing short of amazing. Salacious B. Crumb is crouched up against her and have a look like he is the luckiest monkey-lizard this side of the galaxy. (And he likely is.) Gentle Giant Ltd.. gave Crumb a very creepy presence but he interestingly complements the very, very sexy stature of Princess Leia Organa very well. As a duo, this Maquette brings the perfect combination of friend and foe into one colorful and magnificent sculpture.

And back to Princess Leia Organa herself, it’s quite unbelievable how sexy of an attitude Gentle Giant has captured in an animated take of her. She couldn’t look more relaxed or confident upon Jabba’s dais and she is calmly sitting there already knowing that everything is under control. We are so impressed with this accomplishment. While the animated line is meant to be a caricature of the Star Wars characters in the films, there is no mistaking this Rebel leader as the gorgeous Princess Leia Organa (As Jabba’s Slave). We must also point out that this is one of the most delicate Maquettes in the Star Wars animated Maquette line that we have ever seen. You actually have to think about how you are going to pick it up before you touch it otherwise you’ll risk possible breakage. For example, Princess Leia Organa is propping her left arm up on her fingertips. And each and every finger is separate from each other. One wrong move and you will spell certain doom for this Maquette. So enjoy this collectible carefully. Not that many have been made.
