Kit Fisto fights to free the snow-covered world of Khorm from Separatist control and regain access to a valuable resource. Fisto and fellow Jedi Plo Koon fight the battle droid army and a native warlord in league with the Separatists. Fisto wears crampons to move easily over ice and googles to protect his eyes from blowing snow.

Hasbro can do no wrong when it comes to Kit Fisto. And this has nothing to do with whether the action figure interpretations of the Nautolan Jedi are good or not. It has to do with our unabashed affection for him. He’s absolutely one of our most favorite Jedi in the entire Star Wars saga and it’s great that he so often made into various action figures for the both the animated and realistic lines. But how does a “cold weather” Kit Fisto version of him look with a purple Santa Claus suit and Eskimo hood? Well, he looks just as good as any other Kit Fisto action figure. (Do you see the pattern here now?) Kit Fisto (in cold weather gear) is a rarity for multiple reasons, but mostly because he is based on an Expanded Universe take instead of any appearance in The Clone Wars television show. This all-new flavor of Kit brings the Expanded Universe to the Expanded Universe so-to-speak and this “meta-sourcing” is all too rare in the basic figure line. (It should happen more often than it does.) Kit Fisto fits in with the best of them and we couldn’t be happier to get him all covered up for protection against the cold, although we do find it odd that his species can endure frigid temperatures covered up or not. As an action figure, he delivers extremely well there too. Everyone is going to love this action figure we surmise.

Kit Fisto comes with a very large head sculpt. Part of it is the hood to his parka and Hasbro worked it in this way for obvious aesthetics. Some will probably not like this construction, but we can't think of a better way to attack it. His tendrils create problems for any outerwear, so we think this method works best. A separate hood would have had to be made too big and would likely be loose and move around too much. Going this route allows Hasbro to design a believable look to it without compromising any of its details. The coat is purple and he’s wearing blue gloves. It's an odd combination that works well. From first glance, it would appear that the coat is removable but it isn’t. This should prove to you just how well designed this action figure is. The figure is loaded with a lot of cool and fun accessories. Thankfully Hasbro has incorporated some functionality into the sculpt of Kit Fisto to make these accessories more meaningful. For example, there are two discreet indentations or recesses at his temples which lock his goggles into place yet still allow for utility to hold them up on his forehead or down over his eyes. And they fit like a glove. Kit Fisto also comes with removable snow shoes complete with cleats. These are secured with foot pegs that go into the holes at the bottom of his feet. Kit Fisto also comes with his famous green lightsaber and his hands have been designed to hold onto the hilt well.

The portrait of Kit Fisto has an incredible likeness to his appearance in the television show and not so much from the In Service Of The Republic, Part 1 story. So to be technical, this is a The Clone Wars interpretation of Kit Fisto through that media source. It’s actually one of the most accurate The Clone Wars likenesses to date and Hasbro should be commended for how well Kit Fisto turned out. As we have mentioned, the head/collar hybrid may annoy some, but we are happy with the final result. Your opinions on this may vary. Kit Fisto comes with 18 points of articulation and as you can probably gather from many of the most recent The Clone Wars figures, he comes without ankle joints. It’s really alright though because he has some pliability in his legs that really make it easy to pose him and configure him as you want. Hasbro is definitely proving to us that it’s a goal of theirs to ensure that accessories interact well with the action figure they accessorize. And Kit Fisto is a perfect example of flawless interaction. There are no big jetpacks or heavy assault blaster cannons with Kit Fisto and Hasbro has decided for him instead that a driven goal of accuracy and functionality superseded play value. But don’t worry, there’s plenty of play value here, but we think Hasbro had collectors in mind first when making this version of him.
