It's time to start smiling again. The Return Of The Jedi Deleted Scenes wave of The Vintage Collection has hit retail and what a mighty wave it is indeed. Luke Skywalker (Lightsaber Construction) is so good, you'll have to see it for yourself to see why it's the best modern update to the 1983 Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) figure. Be sure to check out Research Droids Reviews today because it's a wonderful time to be a Star Wars collector! Feel free to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! Well, wonder no more. JTA reader Paul B. has snapped some quick pictures for us to share with you. See the wonder after you click through!

If you ask us, the Prequel Trilogy stuff looks pretty fantastic in The Vintage Collection packaging. And now that Hasbro is doing this for vehicles, it adds a sense of balance to the line. (but let's see some OT vehicles released in the mainline in this packaging too Hasbro). See our Research Droids Reviews where we look at the AT-AP (All Terrain Attack Pod) in this classic packaging. (It looks great!) Feel free to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Now that the Hasbro Power Point presentation has made its way online, we went back to our notes from NY Comic Con and Toy Fair and think we culled together a better (and more accurate) list of release dates for The Vintage Collection. Please expect this to receive further edits down the road once retail starts publishing the case assortments for pre-order. But click through to see what we worked up. We've also updated our The Vintage Collection Visual Guide with this new information too. We wonder if we're going to be in for some surprises since all of these figures only take us through August of 2012. Could more TVC figure be coming Fall 2012? How exciting!

While most Hasbro figures from the 'missing presentation' from Toy Fair were either in the showroom or available in the press images, the two battle packs that were talked about were no where to be found. We personally have no recollection of them looking this bad. Maybe that's why they blew through them so quickly. Wow, the power of persuasion. Hasbro said these were the best sculpts ever and we somehow saw that too in .5 past lightspeed. Expect this to be taken down shortly as Hasbro was ultra-clear that no photography was to be taken of the presentation and that they weren't giving out the presentation this year. Click through to check them out... Plastic caped Darth Vader anyone?

We have been receiving questions from readers on the status of the Royal Starship Droids Battle Packs set from Walmart's Discover The Force line. While we did see these hit about 2 weeks ago in our area, they've completely sold through within 24 hours and we haven't seen them since. And it appears that the same is true for you. Can you let us know what the status of this set is in your neck of the woods by posting in our comments section by clicking through? We expected this set to be a hit, but I don't think any of us expected it to vanish this quickly from shelves. Here's hoping a second shipment is imminent. And maybe an early alarm will proactively enourage Hasbro to get more out to stores.

But you'll find out in our Research Droids Reviews that some of these "straight repacks" aren't that at all. Take for instance Yoda. If you're fortunate enough to own 2011's TVC Ponda Baba (Walrus Man) (VC70) figure, you know it's pretty flawless as is. The one and only problem is that his head sculpt is too small. But do you want to know how to make him even better and remedy this? JTA reader and friend Rich A. shares his own customization of this figure with us to share with you. If you're interested, then click through!

Our Toy Fair coverage is nearly wrapped up (there may be a few odds-and-ends trickling in over the next few days). You can stop by our Toy Fair Round-up section on our main 2012 Coverage page and check out what our friends are doing around the web for their coverage. There's so much to cover and it is truly is a group effort! Team JTA enjoyed sitting down with most of these guys over the weekend in our 'down' time and just hanging out! Enjoy all the coverage and thanks for all your support, interaction in our comments sections and on our Facebook Page, and for the tons of emails we received! Keep them coming!

After going back to our notes and scouring the web for the holes we had, we believe we have compiled a fairly accurate listing of the wave orders and corresponding VC numbers for the upcoming figures in The Vintage Collection. Please note that this data can change once we officially learn more from Hasbro... whenever that will be. Click through to check it all out! Please note that we've also updated our The Vintage Collection Visual Guide with this information too!

Those of you waiting for Hasbro's 2012 Toy Fair Power Point presentation might be relieved to know that we got word that Hasbro will be getting it out to us sometime later today. We received mixed messages about it from HunterPR, but the lastest news seems to indicate its coming shortly. We want to see it just as badly as you because Hasbro FLEW through it at light speed. While we were texting things to Facebook, we were missing slides left and right. Let's hope it is indeed coming today!
UPDATE: Yeah, it didn't come. We're just as disappointed too.

Ever since NY Comic Con, fans of The Clone Wars line have been perplexed (and stressed) by Hasbro’s announcement that there would be a total of 19 figures released under The Clone Wars banner for 2012. JTA spoke with Hasbro about the plans for the line in the future. Sadly, the answers we got will be interpreted bleakly by fans. If you’re interested to learn more of what they said, then click through.

You know that Hasbro has stated that they're not ready to talk about their 2013 plans, but they did confirm that TVC may need to "go away" for a little bit so it doesn't overstay its welcome or get stagnant. (We don't think it ever would.) But if you read our Toy Fair Q&A with Hasbro, you may remember we asked them about if there are more Build A Droids coming into the basic figure lineup. They responded with an affirmative "no" for 2012, but said it was a definite possibility for 2013. In conjunction with this news, we've heard chatter from across multiple sources about how this directly relates to the 2013 line. Interested? You will be... you will be.

There are very few reasons for collectors to get excited about the 2012 product line. Aside from The Vintage Collection and some of the Walmart Discover The Force products, the rest of the stuff is rather lackluster. And it almost borders on dreadful. (Lackluster is almost too kind.) Hasbro graciously retooled the Trade Federation AAT (Armored Assault Tank) and finally got rid of that terrible "exploding battle droid" action feature. You'll learn in Research Droids Reviews today that we nearly have a definitive version of this popular Episode I vehicle now. Feel free to leave your own thoughts in our Disqus comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via e-mail if you'd like to see something that we didn't cover yet.

We continue our Sideshow Collectibles Visual Guide updates with another recently shipped Clone Trooper: Republic Clone Captain (Phase I Armor). With this release we get the last Clone Trooper from Attack of the Clones, completing the set that started 2 years ago (January 2010) with the release of the standard white Clone Trooper. Click on the image below to view the guide. We'll add this to our review database soon, but you can find the other four troopers in our Research Droids Review database until then!

Jedi Temple Archives gets a lot of visitors in our Research Droids Reviews, but we become especially giddy when "big names" check them out, (like Hasbro who stole our Aayla Secura image - we digress). But how cool is it when actor Derek Lyons from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope pops in for a look to check out the review of 2007's TAC Rebel Honor Guard, the character he played in the film? Derek, thank you for stopping in. We're honored. And thank you for posting a comment with some background of your involvement with Episode IV! Click through to read the review and see Derek's comment!!

The 2012 line is a complete mess for archivists. The Clone Wars logo is nowhere to be found on The Clone Wars sourced Battle Packs or vehicles, only the basic figures. But you probably don't care about this detail and rather have us worry about it instead. What you should care about however is the awesome Republic Trooper Battle Packs set. Learn about it in our Research Droids Reviews and see why Hasbro could reissue this at least three more times with little tweaks. Feel free to leave your own thoughts in our Disqus comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via e-mail if you'd like to see something that we didn't cover yet.
