Aside from the recently released Kotobukiya Chop Sabers, Kotobukiya has been quiet with regards to the future of their Star Wars line... until now. Their recent 2010 Toy Fair Catalog has a small tease concerning the future of their ARTFX line, and their Chop Sabers get a series 2! Click below for all the details, and let's hope that we get to see more in a few weeks in New York!

Sponsor Announcement: Brian's Toys

Posted by Chuck | January 29, 2010 at 08:06 PM ET |

We tried sending VGA-graded Videogames to customers using a series of warp pipes and tanooki suits, but the hard acrylic cases created transport problems.  I guess we could try wrapping them in durable-denim overalls?  Otherwise, you will just have to get your NES Super Mario Bros VGA 80+ and Metroid VGA 80 by FedEx Ground for free by using code SHIP4FREE (Restrictions apply).

Oh, and SNARF SNARFFF!  The Lion-O Statue has made an appearance and his Sword of Omens is ready to blast some ray of awesome in your life.

Finally, the new Legacy and Clone Wars Waves have been delayed for a few more days.  Apologies for the inconvenience, we finally realized our complex system of warp pipes has performed less than satisfactory. Expect them to ship February 3rd at the latest.

Why Not Add A Vintage Rocket-Fett To Your Collection?

Posted by Chuck | January 29, 2010 at 03:51 PM ET |

Vintage Rocket Firing Boba Fett. Never produced for the public, but still considered by many vintage collectors to be the holy grail of vintage figures. Yet, 99% of us die-hard vintage fans can't afford one or don't own one. If you've got a spot in your collection for one of these gems, you can at least fill it with a pretty darn good replica until one happens to fall into your lap. Check out this auction for some pretty sweet L-slot and J-slot replicas, and for only $25. Not too shabby. Now, if you absolutely must have the real deal, well then, click here for a J-slot and here for an L-slot. Clicker beware, sticker shock is inevitable! Don't say I didn't warn you...

CW36 Clone Tank Gunner Variation Confirmed!

Posted by Paul | January 27, 2010 at 01:32 PM ET |

Thanks to a tip from our friends at Rebelscum.com, we have located the variant Clone Tank Gunner with the green-painted triangle on his helmet. But it appears that this variation has been out as far back as November since that is when we purchased our first sample. It is this same sample from where our photos were taken that reflect the green triangle. It also appears this running change is currently appearing in the latest remix wave of The Clone Wars figures. Be sure to also check out our review of this figure HERE.

Review: Stormtrooper Commander - TAC - GameStop

Posted by Paul | January 25, 2010 at 04:05 AM ET |

Could the 30th Anniversary Collection GameStop exclusive Stormtrooper Commander be the worst handled action figure exclusive of our time? We think it's certainly close. Today's Research Droids Reviews entry looks at a great figure that didn't get a fair chance with it's first time at retail and is ironically a current "peg wamer" at Star Wars Shop right now (but in different packaging). Bad "Nu"s For Jedi Temple Archives Librarian Lovers!

Posted by Paul | January 13, 2010 at 08:49 AM ET |

It is a sad day. Our beloved Jedi Temple Archives librarian Jocasta Nu did not win in the Fans' Choice Poll, but came in at #2. Some chick named Bastila "something" won instead. Boo-hiss! But be sure to check back here at JTA when we run through the ranking of who made and who didn't. We hope a #2 placement will still warrant a chance for Hasbro to tool her for release!

Menacing Distribution Reaps Benefits For Collectors!

Posted by Paul | January 04, 2010 at 10:59 AM ET |

Do you want to know why some waves of the Legacy Collection have been quite hard to find? It's because they have been rotting in warehouses. Hasbro then panics that they have umpteen million cases of figures and then releases them as a 2 for 1 special. Will the distribution woes never end? Today we found The Phantom Menace wave in the bargain Blockbuster Value! sets at Walmart this morning after just recently finding the Return Of The Jedi wave in this same fashion. We suppose The Empire Strikes Back and Expanded Universe waves should be next! We don't mean to be so sarcastic, but the current "replenish system" just isn't working Hasbro! And we don't want poor distribution to kill the line! Click through to see the bittersweet find!

JTA Special Report: Where Are We Now? Vintage Updates

Posted by Paul | January 01, 2010 at 04:10 AM ET |

It is quite a bit of fun to see how far the modern line has come along, isn't it? Jedi Temple Archives decided to analyze just how many of the vintage figures have been updated in the modern line (and more importantly, which ones have not). Can we all work together to get Hasbro to knock out the last few in 2010, whether they are basic figures or included in multipacks? We hope so, but while we wait anxiously to find out, click through to read our commentary and see whether your own opinions match ours or if your points of view are different.
