Boba Fett is one of the most notorious bounty hunters in the galaxy. Because of Fett's reputation as a do-anything-for-pay bounty hunter, Darth Vader hires Fett to track down and capture Solo's ship, Millennium Falcon, to lure Luke Skywalker to him. In return for helping Vader, Fett is promised Han Solo as his reward.

Fett has already made a deal with the slobbering crime lord Jabba the Hutt to turn Han over to him for a handsome bounty. Fett tracks the Falcon to the Bespin system. When Vader arrives at Bespin, he uses Han to test the carbonite-freezing process on humans. Even though Han is alive, he is now in a state of frozen suspension. Regardless of Han's condition, Fett takes him to Tatooine and delivers him to Jabba, who displays him as his latest piece of wall sculpture.

Luke, Leia, Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca and the droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO, infiltrate Jabba's palace to free Han. Hopelessly outnumbered, they are captured after decarbonizing Han, and brought to the Great Pit of Carkoon to be fed to the Sarlacc. Luke, Han and the others make a last desperate attempt to save their lives and manage to overwhelm Jabba's thugs. In the ensuing fight, Boba Fett falls into the deadly maw of the Sarlacc to be the creature's next meal.

Authentically styled straight from The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett comes outfitted with a BlasTech EE-3 blaster rifle, wrist lasers and miniature flame projector and his battle-scarred Madalorian [sic] armor complete with helmet, cape, scaled Wookiee braids and jet pack. This special edition 12" figure, available for the first time ever, is destined to become a classic collectible.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Let’s be honest. It's likely that Boba Fett is the first choice character collectors wanted to see updated in the Collector Series line. The Mandalorian bounty hunter has become a favorite character for many, many Star Wars fans, and any collectible made based on him are warmly welcomed. It took Kenner/Hasbro until the third wave of the Collector Series line to release Boba Fett. Frankly, he didn’t turn out as well as we’d hoped. While many aspects of this 12 Inch Figure are admirable, the figure falls short overall and ultimately doesn’t meet our expectations. Most notable is Boba Fett’s tiny head sculpt. As a human male wearing a helmet, it should be significantly larger. Sadly, it looks like Boba Fett has a shrunken head, and it looks incredibly out of scale with the rest of the figure. Boba Fett also lacks the necessary articulation to pose him in ways believable to his character. On a more positive note, Boba Fett has a very nice costume. Kenner/Hasbro did a wonderful job at adding key details of his costume into the figure’s design. He has the gauntlets. He has the tool in his shin pockets. And he has the inimitable jet pack with a separate rocket to not only ensure screen-accuracy, but pay homage to the original vintage Kenner figure from 1979. The paint operations on Boba Fett are very nice too. It’s a shame the head sculpt and the areas in the upper chest look so wonky because this figure had potential. They also gave Boba Fett a blaster rifle that fits into his hands quite well. And how can we possibly forget the Wookiee scalp braids hanging off of his right shoulder? As we’ve mentioned, Boba Fett has some saving grace, but overall major tweaks will be required before we label him an acceptable collectible.
