A former Imperial pilot, Bodhi has strong piloting and technical skills that he will put to use for the Rebellion. Ever practical, but highly anxious, Bodhi must gather his courage to bring the battle to the Empire.

Did you ever think for a moment that in the modern era of Star Wars collecting, Hasbro would make collectors wait half a decade to complete the Rogue One A Star Wars Story crew? But that’s what happened. Always making one excuse after another, Hasbro finally added Bodhi Rook, as portrayed by the somewhat disturbed Riz Ahmed (a fine actor but a dark human being), to The Black Series 6-inch line after years of pestering from fans and collectors. They never clarified why they made us wait so many years to bring this favorite and necessary character into the toy line. But the final product is a tremendous effort, and collectors of 6-inch figures indeed will find that Hasbro met their expectations with that fantastic action figure. From the excellent likeness to the intricate detail of the costume, Hasbro ensured that they captured this character’s essential details with precision and exactness. The Photo Real application is exquisite, and the sculpts get better and better with time. And with so many reissues and repainted as of late, it’s excellent to see newness like Bodhi Rook in the line.

Not at all different from what Hasbro did for the Star Wars: Rebels line of 6-inch figures, the Rogue One figures get a second stab at retail, but with improvements and newness this time. Hasbro decisively decided to reissue all of the previously released Rogue One: A Star Wars Story figures, give them Photo Real paint jobs. This update makes them all look incredibly better than their original release. But also like the Star Wars: Rebels cast of characters, Hasbro added the new and long-awaited Bodhi Rook to the Fan Channel to complete the crew once and for all. Many collectors will pass on the updated figures with Photo Real, but a cursory glance shows how incredible the updates are, especially Jyn Erso (Jedha). Since Bodhi Rook is an all-new figure, we don’t have anything to compare it against at the moment. But the comparison isn’t necessary. Hasbro showed us how far they’ve come with action figure making, and Bodhi Rook has an updated articulation system, unlike the past Rogue One figures. So, it’s a bit of a challenge to look at all of these figures as a whole since they have differing articulation systems. Still, the updates help to make them finally feel like a team.

Bodhi Rook also comes with a few accessories. We get a standard Rebel Alliance blaster, the one the Rebel Fleet Troopers use, and it fits into the figure’s right hand. Hasbro also tooled a complex backpack for Bodhi Rook, and it’s like the reason Hasbro waited so long to release this figure is because of the added expense of complexity of the towline included with it. It fits around the figure’s shoulders well and stays in place without a plug. It’s extensive, detailed, and comes with a soft-goods black string that can be pulled out or collected as needed for various play scenes. It also has a tool at the end of it, and a clip is available to rest it when not in use. Bodhi Rook’s vest is removable with patience, but it’s a challenge. It’s a separately sculpted piece and loosely hangs on the figure’s torso. But it’s fitted, so there isn’t any leeway here. Overall, we’re delighted with how Bodhi Rook turned out. Lovers of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will love what Hasbro accomplished here. And once all of the reissues sip, we’ll all have a great-looking crew to complete the various scenes from one of the best films to come out of Disney Star Wars.
