Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jabiim) - TBS [P4] - Six Inch Figures (OWK11)

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set years after the climactic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced the corruption of his friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned Sith Lord Darth Vader.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series didn't go over well. Most felt the story needed to be more engaging and exciting, and the creators needed to understand better the long-running characters reintroduced. If you did become a fan of "Obi-Wan Kenobi," you're probably happy to see more action figures produced based on the series. We get another take on Obi-Wan Kenobi. Although, it's not that notable of an action figure. It feels like a hybrid of Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Prequel Trilogy and the Disney Star Wars universe. The upper body has the standard tunic we see in Episode II and Episode III, but this time a little bit darker. But the bottom half of the action figure looks like all of the Obi-Wan Kenobi figures produced thus far from the Disney+ series. It looks screen-accurate to us, but admittedly, the action figure is about as dull as they come and makes us believe that Hasbro is running out of steam for The Black Series 6-inch line. They depend on reusing existing tooling whenever possible, and although there is quite a bit of newness of Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jabiim), there are repeated parts as well. And no matter how you slice it, what we get for the MSRp is overpriced and not worth it in our eyes. Hasbro developed the soft-goods cape wonderfully, as it fits Obi-Wan Kenobi's frame well. And the paint operations throughout the figure look clean. And the head sculpt is excellent and faithfully captures the likeness of the on-screen character. We're not necessarily complaining about the figure's looks, but more is needed to approve what Hasbro accomplished here. The lineup needs more aliens and droid diversity, which dulls an action figure line. We don't need every last version of Obi-Wan Kenobi. We need other characters. Hasbro will likely produce more of the popular Original Trilogy characters once they get the need to produce stuff from Disney Star Wars out of their system. As sales continue to plummet and as content worsens, it's evident that Star Wars is heading to the point of no return. And that's a sad sentiment.
