Madison Square Park | Dinner at Virgils | Toys R US Times Square | NBC Studios
Believe it or not, toys weren't the only thing in New York! We did manage to get in some minor sightseeing too! Take a look at a few of the stops we made on our Toy Fair adventure!
Madison Square Park
While we waited for our appointment with Gentle Giant, we enjoyed some of the sights and art of Madison Square Park, including some cool stainless steel tree sculptures, named Conjoined, Defunct, and Erratic, from artist Roxy Paine. Around the park are views of some very cool buildings, including the Flatiron Building, The Met Life Tower Building, and the Empire State Building.
My wife joined Nick and myself on our Gentle Giant tour, and later we enjoyed a nice dinner at Virgils BBQ with some fellow Star Wars friends, including the team from Star Wars Action News, Arnie and Marjorie.
Toys R Us Times Square
What would a trip to Times Square be without stopping at the way cool Times Square Toys R Us? With mega-LEGO displays, a huge Star Wars section, and a full size ferris wheel inside, this place is a must stop for any toy lover!
NBC Studios
The conclusion to our adventure in New York came Sunday night when we got a special back-door tour of NBC Studios, where we got to visit the sets of Saturday Night Live, The Conan O'Brian Show, NBC Nightly News, and more. Ex-JTA staff member Pete joined my wife and I, as well as Arnie, Marjorie, and fellow JTA Reporter Nick.
