Retro Collection Boba Fett? Is It On The Horizon?

Although priced with an MSRP for a The Vintage Collection figure, Walmart has listed a Retro Collection Boba Fett figure. With the runaway success of the first wave at TARGET and now Entertainment Earth, there’s no doubt the line’s continuing, but will Boba Fett be one of the figures in the next wave? Special thanks to friend Mark for the alert!

Quick Pics! TVC Boba Fett (VC09) REISSUE

JTA reader Terminal Voracity graciously sent us in some quick pics of the reissued Boba Fett (VC09) figure. Sadly, this is another figure that needs to be retired and the mold broken. It’s terrible! But it does look as if Hasbro updated it as much as they could to make it relevant today. Check out the images below.

Google Trends For Star Wars Characters

After the recent article about Star Wars trending on Google, I thought it might be fun to take a closer look at how various Star Wars characters are trending on Google, both old and new. The results may make some people happy, others not so much, some of the results are certainly surprising! Some spoilers: Russia loves Kylo Ren! Japan loves droids! And Jar Jar Binks is trending more on Google than Finn, Poe or Rose, even in 2019. How is any of that possible? Click through for a few comparisons between Star Wars Characters!

SH Figuarts Return Of The Jedi Boba Fett Coming

SH Figuarts will soon announce an all new Star Wars action figure. A magazine scan of the brand new Return of the Jedi Boba Fett figure (a prototype was seen before) is making the rounds. So expect pre-orders to open very soon! Hasbro has yet to make a ROTJ Black Series Boba Fett, but MAFEX released both an Empire Strikes Back and ROTJ version a few years ago and it will be difficult to compete with the MAFEX Boba Fett who just looks like a miniature human with very crisp details and perfect proportions. However, MAFEX figures are also very fragile and you have to be very gentle with them. SH Figuarts can certainly tolerate more abuse, also the SHF figure will probably be somewhat less expensive than the MAFEX version. ROTJ Boba Fett is scheduled for a September 2019 release, he will be a regular release. I will post an update as soon as pre-orders open.

Update: see official photos on the Tamashii website! The figure goes on pre-order on April 26th!

Getting through “Barge Week” was arduous, but it was well worth it. Now that we got that out of the way, we wanted to redirect your attention to a set Hasbro produced over a decade ago that is essential to help complement your Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna). During 2008’s The Legacy Collection run, Hasbro released the Battle At The Sarlacc Pit Battle Packs set. It gave us our first-ever 3.75″ version of the Sarlacc Pit. It also included a repainted Skiff and five pack-in figures with the worst paint jobs we’ve ever seen. We’ve revisited the review with a massive 120-image gallery, revised text in the review and an Editor’s Note which explains that we do have a Sail Barge now. Anyway, please check out the new images, and see why you may want to consider this for your collection if you don’t have it!

Comicbook.com recently released an article in which Clone Wars Boba Fett voice actor Daniel Logan is quoted as saying that Disney canceled The Clone Wars back in 2013 because the show would have become too graphic for them.
Logan said this at London Comic Con: “Disney, they cancelled it, I think it was getting a little too graphic — actually, it was getting really graphic. Boba was doing some really, really cool stuff. He started actually becoming a bounty hunter.”
According to Logan he recorded dialogue for several episodes which would have pitted Boba Fett against Cad Bane and would have seen him become the bounty hunter we know.
But instead of finishing The Clone Wars Disney created Rebels, a more family friendly show. We can only hope that we will get all the missing episodes one day, graphic or not, I think Disney should not insist that all of Star Wars must be family friendly, Resistance is good family entertainment, The Clone Wars can be more mature. Let’s all hope the show will be a huge success on the streaming service and convince Disney to finish all the episodes that have recorded dialogue!
