Worst. Troop. Builder. Set. Ever. The Imperial Death Trooper four-pack is a waste of everyone’s time. We’re not sugar-coating it today. (more….)
If you’re a George Lucas-era Star Wars fan and collector, you likely feel that the whole IP is insufferable under Disney. Don’t worry; we’re not going down that path here. However, the focus of Disney Star Wars has affected Hasbro’s toy line the most. But as I looked back since the re-launch of The Vintage Collection in March of 2018, I realized that Hasbro did an admirable job of getting many characters from The Empire Strikes Back out to collectors, including MANY I never anticipated we’d see in the modern line. (more….)
It took Hasbro and Target a year to get the Droids Boba Fett 6-inch figure into the hands of collectors. But is it worth it? (more….)
A BASIC The Vintage Collection figure (that also happens to be a retailer exclusive) is not $20.99. And that’s for a figure that has 50% reused parts. What gives, Hasbro? That said, the Boba Fett (Morak) figure is stellar, but not without issues (more….)
Do you remember the scene from “Misery” when Annie Wilkes exclaimed “He didn’t get out of the cockadoodie car!”? That’s about where we are with the Walmart exclusive Imperial Gunner figure from The Vintage Collection. Apparently, Hasbro believes they can pull the wool over longtime TVC collectors’ eyes so they can pass off an old figure from a Disney Star Wars source as an OT character when it’s entirely inaccurate! (more….)
FINALLY! It only took 18 years, but Hasbro stepped-up to give us a proper STAR WARS Stormtrooper for The Vintage Collection. The wait started in 2004. Folks, we now have our definitive A New Hope Stormtrooper action figure. See why you won’t want to miss this one! (more….)
The Princess Leia Organa figure in The Black Series [Publishing Program] line is better than you think. . And it comes with more accessories than some “deluxe” figures. (Remember that scam?) (more….)
The Din Djarin (Morak) figure in The Vintage Collection is mostly reused parts, but you shouldn’t let that fool you. It’s an excellent action figure. (more….)
Hasbro is trying to pass off another 6-inch basic figure as a “deluxe” figure with the Dark Trooper. But it’s a nice action figure! (more….)
Did you ever think we’d see an Infinities Darth Vader in the 6-inch scale? What we need most is an updated super-articulated 3.75-inch version! (more….)
The 332nd Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper shoots right to the top of our The Vintage Collection category list. Hasbro made us wait WAY TOO LONG for this 501st Legion variation, but at least it’s here now. (more….)
We’ve received three distinct characters within six months, all using the same tooling. The latest is the Mandalorian Death Watch Airborne Trooper. It’s pretty cool. (more….)
We get another army-builder in the Imperial Stormtrooper (Nevarro Cantina) Deluxe set from Walmart. (more….)

The Vintage Collection Bespin Security Guard (Helder Spinoza) is the best figure of 2022, and we say that knowing it has imperfections and is 50% reused parts. And it’s hard to believe we waited 42 years for the FIRST modern counterpart to the classic 1980 The Empire Strikes Back vintage Kenner release. It’s like waiting for a new ABBA record. But it’s finally here, and it’s divine. (more….)

Only in a bizarro Walmart world would you find The Vintage Collection marked $2 less than a Retro Collection figure. But here we are.
We reference a classic Seinfeld episode as an analogy to how we feel about another ARC Trooper release, this time ARC Trooper Jesse. (more….)
Today you’ll get a fascinating history lesson. Hopefully, you’ll also shed a tear of joy with us for the glorious release of the definitive The Vintage Collection Stormtrooper Commander. After years of Hasbro’s abuse, they finally make things right with longtime collectors. (more….)
Separated by only 30 days, The Vintage Collection Mandalorian Super Commando Captain arrives after its base figure by mere moments. Find out how it compares. (more….)
Here is something else to file under “You can’t make this stuff up.” We are receiving MULTIPLE reports of JTA readers receiving the Walmart exclusive Bespin Security Guard (Heldor Spinoza) in place of the Mandalorian Super Commando Captain from Amazon! Once again, another retailer-exclusive figure shows up at the wrong, uh, retailer. And before you ask if the seller was Amazon, that answer is yes. The supply chain is in complete disarray. Let us know if you received this figure instead, too!
Did you know The Vintage Collection Figrin D’an is like 75% reused parts? You didn’t expect that, did you? We didn’t either. We broke this figure down by “the good,” “the bad,” and “the ugly.” You’ll not want to miss this review today. (more….)
It’s not accurate, but maybe you care. Check out the Black Krrsantan 6-inch figure in the “Publishing Program” sub-line of The Black Series 6-inch collection. (more….)
