Later today there will be this year’s SDCC Hasbro panel. Before we discuss what has actually been revealed, I would like to give us all one last opportunity to talk about what we would like to see. So what are your expectations? What is it you wish will be revealed? What is it you think will actually be revealed? Do you feel any excitement at all? Maybe Hasbro will have a nice surprise for collectors, this can never be ruled out. One thing is certain though: the various “new” figures in the dioramas which made the rounds yesterday are merely custom figures, that means no Bib Fortuna or Rancor or any of the droids will be revealed, so whatever it is Hasbro will unveil, it will either confirm rumors we already know or they may actually have a few surprises in store no one knows about yet. So what else do you think Hasbro may have for us?
As usual there was a preview night before SDCC kicked off properly and Hasbro showed off nothing that we haven’t seen before, but it was still a chance to see the recently revealed Sith Trooper in the flesh. So click through for a few photos!
The Sideshow Collectibles booth has quite a few new Hot Toys Sixth Scale figures on display at SDCC, including Wicket, a pair of Jawas, Padmé Amidala, R4-19, Battle Droid, Kit Fisto, And a very impressive Sixth Scale Jedi Starfighter! Pictures were scattered around both Reddit and the SideshowFreaks forums. Click through for a collection of pictures from the various forums, sent in by Colin. Thanks for the alert, Colin!
Update: Hot Toys also posted a great gallery of their entire display on their Facebook page.
All-new Vader Immortal character posters were revealed on The Star Wars Show yesterday and featured on StarWars.com. Attendees of SDCC can pick all 6 of these up this week at the Lucasfilm pavilion (booth #2913). If anyone wants to pick me up a set of these I would be forever grateful!
Mark your calendars and set your watches if you dare hope to secure this year’s Hasbro SDCC exclusives. According to the Hasbro Pulse web site, September 10th (at a time TBD) is the day they go on sale to non-attendees of SDCC. Good luck. You’re gonna need it. Thanks to JTA reader Steven for the alert!
We received an update from Regal Robot for those attending SDCC next week, for those who cannot attend, and how to get their convention exclusive…
For fans who can’t make the show, we’re offering the exclusive online, but only during the days of the convention from July 17th-21st! Folks can visit regalrobot.com for the latest info and we’ll have a post go up there as soon as they are live and available to order! People who purchase at the show get them right away and at a show special of $20 each. Online, they will be $29 plus shipping and they’ll ship about 6-8 weeks from the time of the order.
It looks like the new Sith Trooper will be the face of The Rise Of Skywalker at SDCC as we see it revealed in multiple formats over at StarWars.com, including a pretty sweet looking Hot Toys version. Click through for all the details on the many formats you can see this new trooper in, including not only action figures, but Pop! bobble-heads, mugs, shirts, hats, backpacks, and more.
SDCC is coming up fast, and StarWars.com has distilled the main Star Wars exclusives coming out of this year’s event. Click through for the full report!
If you go to SDCC don’t expect too many news about the upcoming Star Wars movie. It has been revealed today that there will be no The Rise of Skywalker panel at SDCC. JJ Abrams and crew will not be in San Diego. They thought of ways to top the The Force Awakens panel from 2015, but couldn’t figure out a way to achieve that. So instead, they will save everything for D23, which will take place August 23-25. The question now is if a new trailer will also be revealed during D23, it would make sense.
Rather bewilderingly, the Doctor Aphra SDCC set is still in-stock online. If you still haven’t picked up this set, I personally recommend it – especially for the amazing droids (don’t see too many of them around anymore). Check out our review of the set here!
Here is another SDCC interview we missed this year. Flyguy’s Six Inch Show has an interview with STeve Evans that’s worth checking out! Special thanks to JTA reader Matthew C. for the alert!
Yodasnews had the opportunity to talk to Steve Evans and Joe Ninivaggi at SDCC and asked them several questions. Definitely check out the interview and click through for a few key details from the Q&A!
Hasbro has sent out official press images of today’s reveals. Click HERE to check out the official Forcelink 2.0 3.75″ images.
Hasbro revealed at their SDCC panel that they will introduce a new 6 inch figure line. A greatest hits line called “The Black Series Archive”. Hasbro will release 4-8 figures each year, they will select highly sought after figures for this line. All figures will come on blister cards and all human figures will be updated with the photo real technology. The first four figures, coming later in 2018, are Boba Fett, Bossk, IG-88 and X-Wing Luke with photo real paint apps!

What a coincidence! My logic was right on the money! Hasbro reveals via io9 that there will be a The Vintage Collection Special Action Figure Set three-pack including Doctor Aphra! Amazing set! It also includes Triple Zero (0-0-0) and BT-1 (BeeTee) which likely will remain exclusie to this set! Great job, Hasbro! This set looks fantastic!
We know that there will be both 3.75″ and 6″ Hasbro exclusives for SDCC this year. You saw my speculation on what the 3.75″ TVC exclusive might be (Doctor Aphra), but I also have thoughts on what the 6″ SDCC exclusive will be. (more….)
BUT WHO WILL IT BE? It’s always fun to speculate what’s coming next from Hasbro, and this is especially true when it comes to San Diego Comic Con exclusives. Hasbro has already let it “slip” that there will indeed be a The Vintage Collection SDCC exclusive this year. So, based on past experience, we’re going to surmise what it might be.
