The Black Series [Star Wars 40] Artoo-Detoo (R2-D2) just popped in stock at Walmart.com. But there is only one problem: it’s $49.95. This has happened before, but they’re scalping their own stock again. Can anything else go wrong with this line? Thanks to friend Steve U. for the alert!
In case you haven’t heard, The Black Series [Star Wars 40] wave 1 is getting cancelled on collectors left and right. Hasbro has officially put this wave out of production. What we don’t know for sure is the effect on the solid case packs as our sponsors still show them available for pre-order. It looks like if you want Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker, getting singles might be your only bet going forward. Remember, Hasbro Toy Shop’s eBay store still has these available. (It’s unbelievable has disorganized this collection has been.)
….and saw himself on sale for less than 5 bucks! I’m not good at telling jokes, so thankfully this isn’t one. How would you like to pay under $5 for some great The Black Series 6″ figures? Well, JTA reader JediRebel77 shares with us quite a find at a local Target store. Even though we all love to find a deal, Target REALLY needs to make some changes to the way they handle inventory for Star Wars figures. Click through to see what kind of deals we’re seeing.
Steve Evans, Design Director for Hasbro Star Wars, has revealed on Star Wars Black Series 6″ Collectors Facebook page that the 6″ Jawa’s eyes glow! (Too bad they glow green, Steve! Just kidding!) Cool Easter egg!
UPDATE: JTA reader Zach L. actually pointed out this detail in our Jawa RDR 21 days ago!
The solid case packs have gone up for pre-order at Entertainment Earth for two hard to find The Black Series [Star Wars 40] figures. pore-order as many Artoo-Detoo (R2-D2) and Han Solo figures as you’d like and KILL that aftermarket folks! Special thanks to JTA reader Craig P. for the alert!
If you’re still in need of the 40th Anniversary Death Squad Commander or Jawa, HasbroToyShop has them in stock now.
The Death Star Trooper is on eBay now for $19.99 + FREE shipping as well!
The Jawa is on eBay now for $19.99 + FREE shipping as well!
JTA Reader Danny sends us some images of his latest order of 40th Anniversary figures from Walmart.ca. And i thought I got some bad packaging! Has anyone else received some horrible packaging like this from Walmart.ca?
It might be time to start really paying attention to Hasbro Toy Shop’s eBay store. They’ve taken new markdowns on products that have been full price until now, including TBS6 figures. It will be interesting to see how low these will go….
If you happen to live near a Meijer, you’re in for some savings. They’re apparently putting ALL Star Wars products on clearance including 6″ 40th Anniversary, Legacy Pack, 40th Anniversary Die-cast, and much much more. Thanks to JTA Facebook reader Tanner M. for the heads up!
For our Canadian readers, Walmart.ca has the all of wave 2 of the 40th Anniversary except for C-3PO in stock now. Thanks to JTA reader Elie for the alert!
Not only did I personally run to my local Walmart in East Brunswick, NJ at 10:43 PM to dig out a Wave 2 box from the stacks of toys, but we also got a report only 30 minutes later from JTA reader Aric who apparently did the exact same thing as me, but in Chicago. Keep an eye out folks! They seem to be coming around. I know many people haven’t even seen them yet, so don’t give up.
If you’re a Pro-Member at Gamestop, today you can get all collectibles Buy One Get One 50% Off. This includes the pre-order for the Inferno Squadron Pilot. For some reason, the discount doesn’t show up in the cart or purchase, but customer service assures me it will come off at the time you’re charged. Not a bad deal if you ask me. Check out all the Star Wars collectibles on sale.
Toys R Us is having a Buy 2 Get the 3rd Free sale on almost everything Star Wars. I’m not sure if this is Online Only, but maybe you can snag a few things you’ve been passing up on.
JTA reader Joshua O. found this at his local Walmart. I guess this thief doesn’t love Princess Leia as much as Hasbro.
Forget about maintaining exclusive rights to any part of the Hasbro Star Wars line, Walmart, this great retail partner of Hasbro’s, shouldn’t even be allowed to carry Star Wars figures. Special thanks to an anonymous reader who asked us to share this image.
HasbroToyShop.com has The Black Series [Star Wars 40] wave 2 in stock! Thanks everyone who wrote in with the overnight alert! Code MAYSAVE10 still works during checkout for an extra $10 off (Thanks for the tip Mike!)
Update: Out of Stock!
Some folks who pre-ordered the TBS 40th Anniversary figures from Amazon back in February are still getting delayed shipping notices, this time with no estimated delivery date. I’d recommend keeping those orders while you still hunt for them else ware. Hopefully, they will eventually fill them all! Thanks for the alert Donald!
