Carbonized Mandalorian Variant Figure Has Leaked

The comedy that is called “Disney Star Wars Merchandise Embargo” adds another act to the play. Facebook User Richard Nash posted photos of a yet unannounced brand new Mandalorian figure variant on the Action Figures Collectors UK Facebook group! So on top of the “graphite” Second Sister we now also get a “carbonized” Mandalorian! If you head over to the Facebook Group you will see more photos of the box, this variant still has the number “94”. Will you get these paint variants? It seems these paint variants are not meant to be screen accurate, but rather chase variants for completionists? Will you get this figure? The box certainly looks better than the standard Black Series box. Click the photo below for a larger version!

While Disney has everything under embargo and Hasbro roll their eyes 360 degrees all day long, the rest of the world doesn’t care one bit about Disney’s confused Triple Force Friday strategy. Stores in North America ignore street dates (someone was able to buy the Mandalorian figure just very recently), things leak left and right on Instagram and Facebook… and now the first YouTube videos of the Triple Force Friday Black Series figures are released. YouTuber “Vern’s Hobbies” bought the figures from Hasbro’s great retail partner Walmart in Canada! “Vern’s Hobbies” has already unboxed and reviewed The Mandalorian, Cal Kestis and the Offworld Jawa, chances are the rest of the TFF figures will follow shortly, so maybe you follow his channel for updates, if you want to see videos of the figures.
Go to the channel, to see the videos! Thanks to Ondrej M for the alert!

The Mandalorian Show Will Explore The First Order Origins!

Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive story on their website with one all new detail about the upcoming Mandalorian show on Disney+.

The show will explore the origins of the First Order! Now if that is just a side plot or a major plot element is unknown. What we do know is that remnants of Imperial forces are still around. Perhaps we will see how these remnants reform to become the First Order. Not all of the former Stormtroopers, Moffs and Governors became good citizens of the New Republic. So it seems The Mandalorian might bridge the original and the sequel trilogy and provide some much needed background and add some worldbuilding to the sequels.

Check out the EW website for their exclusive story and some quotes by Dave Filoni and Jon Favrau, which add some perspective to the First Order angle!

Upcoming Triple Force Friday Star Wars Sets Have Leaked

There was an article here originally… that discussed and showed all the upcoming LEGO Star Wars sets for Triple Force Friday. We received a friendly email from LEGO about a previous article that showed photos posted elsewhere already and they asked us to remove the content. Which we did, of course.

If you want to see the photos of the sets, both the box and loose, google for promobricks.de they have high res photos of everything on their homepage!

Also, once the genie is out of the bottle you can’t put it back, these photos are on the internet, easily found. But LEGO has to abide by Disney’s rules as well, and the embargo exists, we have to respect that.

A “Hasbro Star Wars Vin Huckleberry Hoodboat” has appeared in various Swiss online shops! The price ranges from 102.70 -119 Swiss Franks. So it could be a $80-$100 vehicle in the US. We know that “Huckleberry” is the code name for the Mandalorian show. The vehicle has been rumored for a while now, but the fact the TVC vehicle can now be found in several European online shops is certainly another good sign. It is unknown what vehicle exactly Hasbro will release, but the Razor Crest would be a logical choice here. Expect it to see the light of day in early 2020.

If you want to check out the German language shops, here are the links:

What Do You Want For Force Friday And Beyond?

We’re in somewhat of a lull at the moment. Most figures Hasbro has already finished are still under a Disney embargo and nothing official is known. We do know that on Triple Force Friday we will definitely get figures for The Rise of Skywalker, The Mandalorian, and the Fallen Order video game. So let’s talk about what you expect, what you hope for, and what you want! Both for TVC and TBS! And let’s speculate also if there will be any (Force Link) 3.75 in 5 POA figures at all because so far there are exactly zero rumors about the latter. So click through for a discussion!

What Do You Want For The Mandalorian Toyline?

The Mandalorian will debut its first episode in November on Disney+. Hasbro most certainly has a number of figures for the show in development or production even. Time to talk about what you want from Hasbro for the Mandalorian – both TVC and Black Series! Do you think we will get a dedicated wave or two for The Mandalorian? Or just a couple of figures here and there? My hope is that the Mandalorian won’t just be a huge hit for Disney+, but that Hasbro will give as at least as many figures for the Mandalorian as we get for any of the sequel movies. Figures we do need is the Mandalorian himself, with removable helmet, provided the character will ever remove the helmet on the show, plus Gina Carano’s and Carl Weather’s character, Werner Herzog’s Imperial, Giancarlo Eposito’s character, that droid co-pilot we saw on the Razorcrest, the female Twi’Lek that was glanced, the Incinirator Trooper, a Gonk droid (for 6 inch at least) and at least one or the other background alien would be nice.
With Episode IX on the horizon I think that the last quarter of 2019 will be focused on that, but maybe in the first half of 2020 we will get some great Mandalorian toys? Or will we just get the occasional figure here and there, similar to Rebels which has not received a single TVC figure yet and only most of the main crew in the Black Series? That would be somewhat of a disappointment, in my opinion. I think Hasbro should do more for the first live action Star Wars series. So what do you think?

All of the videos shown during the Mandalorian Panel at Star Wars Celebration have finally made it to YouTube in somewhat good quality. This is your chance to watch the two behind the scenes reels shown during the panel, the exclusive Mandalorian trailer and also the exclusive 5 minute preview of the pilot episode directed by Dave Filoni! Effects work  for some of the footage has not been finished yet apparently, but this will give you a good idea of what to expect. In my opinion The Mandalorian is absolutely on the right track, the look and feel of this show should make almost all fans very happy.

A First Look At The Mandalorian!

The Mandalorian panel just closed a few minutes ago. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni talked about the show and revealed a few details. Also on the panel were the three main characters Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano and Carl Weathers. And while not very much was revealed, almost nothing about the actual story, we did learn a few things! A sizzle reel was also shown, however, the YouTube stream faded to back when the footage was shown. But several Bothan spies were able to smuggle out the footage and we will show you some screenshots of the revealed footage! So click through for a look at The Mandalorian!

R5-D4 Is In The Mandalorian?

Jon Favreau loves to tease… and this time he posted a photo of an R5 unit from The Mandalorian on his Instagram!
I wonder if this could be R5-D4? Only with a functioning motivator this time? I compared the photo with my Bandai model kit of R5 and even with how R5 appeared in the movie and the color scheme seems to be identical, however this R5 unit appears to show some more wear and tear than the R5 we meet in A New Hope. But it’s many years later, so who knows what he went through. Maybe some droid experts out there can shed some more light on it. Anyway, it’s photos like these that build up anticipation for the show!

Composer For The Mandalorian Announced

The official Star Wars website announced the composer for the upcoming Disney+ series The Mandalorian earlier today. And his name is Ludwig Göransson. The Swede is known for composing the Black Panther soundtrack (The Mandalorian sure has a few people from Marvel on the team now), he also composed the soundtracks to the Rocky spin-offs Creed I+II, and most recently you could hear his work in the movie Venom. His TV resume includes Community, New Girl and Happy Endings. Göransson is also a producer for Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) for which he received three Grammy nominations. Nick Nolte Joins The Mandalorian!

The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive report about Nick Nolte joining The Mandalorian. Nothing is known about his role on the show. Pedro Pascal is the lead character, Gina Carano (you saw her in the first Deadpool movie) was announced a short while ago and  Carl Weathers was apparently hired as well. Nothing is known yet about plot or who exactly the actors will be portraying. I suppose we will have to wait a few more months before we get more details. The Mandalorian is projected for a late 2019 release on the Disney+ streaming channel.

Pedro Pascal Will Play The Mandalorian

Is has been rumored for quite a while, but apparently things are getting more official now. According to Variety the lead role in the upcoming Disney+ streaming show The Mandalorian has been offered to Pedro Pascal, who you may know from such things as Game of Thrones, Kingsmen 2 or Narcos. Negotiations are underway, but if nothing unforeseen happens you can expect Pedro Pascal to be The Mandalorian sometime in 2019. Shooting is underway for The Mandalorian, however only scenes without the lead actor were filmed, according to Entertainment Weekly. Carl Weathers was cast as a supporting character a few days ago. Other than that the cast is still mostly a mystery. More details will certainly follow in time.

I Have A Good Feeling About This

Jon Favreau updated his Instagram account with some new photos a few hours ago and  look who came to visit for his birthday! It’s good to see that George is still around, at least visiting. Who knows, maybe he even gave Jon the one or the other piece of advice about Star Wars. No matter what he did, it’s nice to see the two of them together. Another photo shows the two with Dave Filoni who will, as you all know, direct the first episode of The Mandalorian. The show can’t come soon enough!
