Brick and mortar is generally in diastrous shape. But Walmart is looking pretty scary these days. There are no signs of life in either The Vintage Collection or The Black Series 6″ lines in any of my local stores (and most other areas too).
Please click the thumbnail below to see an astounding collage of the nothingness that most of us believe represents how brick and mortar looks across the USA. And because this is an anecdotal example, we’d love to have our readers comment (with evidence if possible) to show how your stores look in our comments. For me, this is how every Target and Walmart looks in my area which includes a minimum of five of each store. What’s the point of these stores carrying Star Wars action figures? Yet they seem to possess the power to dictate what Hasbro produces for The Vintage Collection. Yes, Hasbro isn’t responsible for what retail orders, but perhaps Hasbro should impose an order minimum to stock stores. Empty pegs make no sense for retail and support the narrative that no one buys Star Wars. Why would they order more? Special thanks to Jon Morgan for the collage of hell. If you’re on Twitter or any other horrific social media platform, perhaps you can tag Hasbro, Walmart, and Target and ask them what the heck is up. (more….)
It looks like Walmart will not be getting any other The Vintage Collection Incinerator Trooper action figures back in stock. An email is going out to all who had their orders canceled that a $10 gift card will be going out and that they don’t anticipate any more stock of the item. Once again, can The Vintage Collection get a break? Special thanks to Indiana Skywalker and Mark for the alerts!
The worst wave of The Vintage Collection repacks of all time is now hitting your local Walmart store. JTA reader and friend Russ T. found the wave at his local Walmart in NJ. Let us know of your store finds too in the comments!
I wish Chris Swanski from Bantha Skull would refrain from ordering his personal products during peak The Vintage Collection exclusive ordering times because Walmart can only deal with so much at a time. One of our readers, Aaron P., accidentally received Chris’ shipment of “personal items” instead of The Vintage Collection’s Din Djarin, and Aaron lost out on Din Djarin because of this mixed up shipment. Chris, text me and we’ll figure out how to get these to you. But please don’t order this stuff during another TVC ordering frenzy. Click through for JTA reader Aaron P.’s experience.
Something’s gotta give. This is a mere sampling of the many items from my many orders with Walmart that have been canceled without warning. The Black Series 6″ figures, The Vintage Collection figures, and Walmart exclusives have all gotten canceled. I must have over 30 cancellation emails from Walmart now. The question is whose fault is this? It’s a question we’ve never received an honest answer to from anyone.

The price is listed wrong, but here’s The Vintage Collection Incinerator Trooper Walmart exclusive figure.
I have been searching high and low for the latest wave of The Vintage Collection figures in my area. As expected, there is a blessed sign of them anywhere. At my local Walmart, I couldn’t help but notice multiple cases of the first wave of The Black Series [The Empire Strikes Back 40th Anniversary] wave when I arrived to the toy aisle. (more….)
No matter what scale you collect, all collectors agree that Walmart is often problematic for collecting, especially when it comes to exclusives. This latest is example is a bit of a doozy. Take a look at what this collector got instead of his carbonized exclusive. Thanks to Cody S. and others who informed us of this story.

Cancel those full-priced pre-orders! Walmart has marked down the pre-order price to The Vintage Collection’s Anakin Skywalker (Peasant Disguise), Queen Amidala, and TIE Fighter Pilot down to $11.04 each. The Battle Droid remains at normal MSRP. Save nearly $2 per figure by ordering at Walmart now! Special thanks to JTA reader and friend Mark for the alert!
JTA Facebook reader Tanner M. sends us proof that he found the latest wave of The Black Series 6″ figures at his local Walmart. This wave includes Cad Bane and The Armorer.

The countdown timer for the Walmart Collector Con event has officially run out, but the new reveals won’t actually go on sale until 10 AM Eastern. They are advertising the new exclusives for not only Star Wars, but also Transformers, Marvel Legends, and GI Joe. Stay tuned for pre-order links as soon as they go live! Walmart has put up The Vintage Collection Carbon-Freezing Chamber playset and it has a tentative ship date of September 15th and ships for free to store. Special thanks to JTA reader Lisa for the alert!
The supposed “Fan Channel-only” exclusive wave of The Vintage Collection repacked and updated with Photo Real figures including Luke Skywalker (Bespin) and See-Threepio (C-3PO), which already showed up at TARGET and weren’t supposed to, are now showing up at Walmart. We assume they weren’t supposed to show up at Walmart either. Expect them to get marked down to $5.00 per figure in a couple of weeks. Special thanks to JTA reader Chad R. for the report and image.
We’re not sure if this is a single store markdown or not. And we have NO IDEA how widespread this is. But we have evidence that the Retro Collection is on clearance at this Walmart location for 50% off. Many (most?) of us haven’t even seen this collection of figures enter their brick and mortar locations, let alone on sale. It’s not even the end of May, and this latest find makes us believe that Walmart is over the 40th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back already. Thanks to JTA reader Thomas H. for the report and image.
This is the funniest thing you’ll see on the internet today. Guaranteed. Thank you From 4-LOM To Zuckuss for the laugh, but we’re not laughing at your pain.

If you’re interested, you can pre-order The Vintage Collection Luke Skywalker (Stormtrooper) figure at Walmart online. Special thanks to friend Mark for the alert!
Those of you who ordered the Retro Collection online through Walmart’s website will have to wait “an unknown amount of time” before you see your orders fulfilled. JTA has learned that stock has been delayed because of the pandemic, and it will take some time before Walmart online can fill them. Please note, Retro Collection figures arriving in filled displays at some Walmart stores are part of a separate inventory and not part of the online stock units. It’s suggested to leave your orders in their current pre-ordered status as the expectation remains that they will eventually be filled and shipped out to collectors. Currently, there is no impact on The Empire Strikes Back 40th Anniversary 6″ figures. And the effect on new The Vintage Collection figures remains unknown. We will continue to follow this developing story, and provide updates as they become available. In the meantime, check out the complete wave of The Empire Strikes Back figures RIGHT HERE.
If you need to order The Vintage Collection’s Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) figure, Walmart has it available for pre-order. Special thanks to JTA reader Mark for the alert!
With encouraging new store reports of the latest The Vintage Collection figure found, I have to say it’s a bit depressing to check out the Walmart stores where I live. They’ve completely given up on Star Wars.

If you missed him the first time around, The Vintage Collection Luke Skywalker (Yavin) is once again available for pre-order on Walmart.com. Perhaps this release will have the updated name pill. Thanks to JTA reader Biggs for the tip!
